Poland rumours (Wroclaw)

An old rumour is coming back....new base in Wroclaw with new routes to Spain, France, Sweden, Italy and Morocco... this rumour was published one year ago....but anymore news...

... claims to have just signed a deal with a European government to open four bases in that country. But he won’t say which one.

Normally it's in Poland: Gdansk (GDN) , Katowice (KTW) , Krakow (KRK) and Wroclaw (WRO)

i love rumours...lol...that's good news for ryanair's fans

Normally it's in Poland: Gdansk (GDN) , Katowice (KTW) , Krakow (KRK) and Wroclaw (WRO)

This may be true as :
1) Gdansk is planning to announce "wide route extention" within next few weeks (source from polish newspapers)
2) Wroclaw will have new terminal mid 2011 and on their facebook webpage their PR Dept pre-advised possible flights to many new destinations and confirmed advanced talks with FR on opening a base

However I somehow don't believe in 2 bases being KRK & KTW - those airports are too close to each other. If it would be 4 airports in PL I would expect i.e. GDN (definite) WRO (definite) one of KRK/KAT (not both!) and either LCJ or BGZ as fourth one

Some "leaks" from WRO managment that "something" will be announced next week. There may be some routes or mybe even (i hope) a base?

It would be amazing for me if finally PL/WRO will get base. My g/f (cabin cred in DUB) would apply immediatelly for transfer to WRO

for now those are dreams but definitelly something is planned in WRO next week....

I also think so ... I know few people from WRO airport and they negotiate a base since few years and now with new Terminal in Autumn it may be more possible than ever (especially prior EURO 2012 games)

Madrid? Tenerife? Murcia? Porto???????

"rumours" are about 5 routes.in total .. one of which may be VIE with Austrian other 4 maybe FR (or 3 as in 5 there may be CPH which was just announced by SAS)

most rumours are about OPO / MAD with FR

Unfortunately, I'm not confident in a WRO-OPO route, unless WRO becomes a base.

There's no room for more routes in OPO, because the planes' schedule is full.

Anda a W route is very, very unlikely.

I would preffer a base not OPO plane visiting WRO  but WRO plane visiting OPO

however W rotation wouldn't be bad as well - like EIN got i.e. DUB planes doing DUB-EIN-PMI-EIN-DUB or DUB-EIN-IBZ-EIN-DUB
long days for crew anyway as they start 6:30 (reporting 5:45) and finish 16:00/16:10. Similar W rotation with WRO-OPO-WRO would be possible from several bases
